Mini Lights - Understanding the Design and Assembly of the Three Wire Strings of Them

Mini Lights - Understanding the Design and Assembly of the Three Wire Strings of Them

Samsung Galaxy

Single strings of twisted 3-wire mini-lights help to decorate parties, special events, and holidays. Trying to understand their 3-wire 120-volt-alternating-current (VAC) assemblages can be difficult without foreknowledge. Actually, it is fairly simple. Here is how they are designed and put together.

Mini-light strings manufactured today.

Several lengths of mini-light strings (from 15-to-150-feet) are available to consumers today, each one holding a different number of clear or colored mini-bulbs. However, recent attempts to standardize the manufacture of these light strings has focused on the making of 50-bulb sets that can either be used alone as one string, or can be pre-assembled into longer 2-to-3-set, 100-to-150-bulb strings. Each completed string whatever its length will have an electrical plug at each end like an extension cord. This standardization appears to be true both for the older tubular incandescent lights (with their filaments sealed within their 3-mm-diameter bulbs) and the newer LED types (having light emitting diodes encased within the bulbs).

Currently, the newer LED strings are more expensive than the incandescent ones, but they use less electricity than the filament types. Still, the manufacturing of the shorter light strings of either kind having less than 50-bulbs is still done, and they can be found in the stores. But, they are not a major part of the current mass production of mini-lights.

Thus, each full-length string of any bulb-number will have a male plug at one end and a female plug at the other end. Also, these plugs are made so the individual strings can be stacked (two or three them plugged piggyback into each other at each end to make the total string longer) without causing electrical failure. The male plug of each string also has two small 3-amp buss fuses within it, one for each of its two main 120-volt wires. Yet these fuses will blow if the stacked strings get too lengthy (beyond 5 strings) or if too much wattage is drawn by them for other reasons.

To illustrate the description of a 3-wire single-string of mini-lights, this article uses a common 100-bulb string, which contains two 50-bulb sets pre-manufactured as one string. Each bulb in the two sets is rated at about 2.5-volts; i.e., 120-volts/50-bulbs = 2.4-volts/bulb. Short sections at each end of this string and at its middle between the two 50-bulb sets will show two wires only, the two power wires. The third wires are for the bulbs themselves.

Mini-light-string design and assemblage.

Basically, two of the wires on any three-wire mini-light string carries the household 120-volts of electricity from one end of the string to the other end similar to the way any extension cord does. The so-called third wire of this string holds all of the mini-bulbs and their sockets in succession (series) a few inches apart. Although the bulbs themselves are in series, this so-called third wire holding the bulbs is connected at each of its ends to each of the two 120-volt wires in parallel.

That is, one end of this bulb wire is connected to the first of the two 120-volt wires at one end of the whole string. The other end is connected to the second 120-volt wire at the other end of the set further down the same string. For a 100-bulb string, a second set of 50-bulbs is connected to the two 120-volt wires the same way further down the string from the first set, where it functions independently from the first set. The finished string can be from 20-to-50-feet long, depending on the spacing between the bulbs.

These connections are hard to see by looking at the finished product because all three wires are twisted to form a tight rope-like string, leaving only the bulbs exposed. Yet, each of these two bulb sets is connected parallel to the 120-voltage wires, which allows them to work independently of each other.

Another advantage of these parallel connections is the electricity itself continues to flow through the main two wires from one-end plug to the other end-plug if one or both bulb-sets fail for any reason. As a result, when a 100-bulb light string begins to show unlit bulbs, these failed bulbs could appear in either one or both sets. For example, one 50-bulb set could have all or only a few of its lights not working, while the second set could show all of its bulbs lit okay because each set operates separately from the other one. Since the electricity is still flowing through the two power wires in the latter example (i.e., several lights are still working), then some of the bulbs in the failing set need to be replaced.

Vital Transformation (live) - The Mahavishnu Experience

Hey all! Now that I'm in my third year at Humber College, much of my time is spent recording and performing with different groups. This is an ensemble I put together with some friends to cover and experiment with the music of the 70s fusion group "Mahavishnu Orchestra". It's very challenging music to play, as it's a mixture of jazz harmony with rock tone and Indian rhythms. This is a tune off of their debut album "The Inner Mounting Flame", and it's one of their signature songs. The whole tune is in 9/8 time signature (wooo!). The band is as follows: Aline Homzy - Violin Felipe Debastos - Guitar Andrew Kesler - Keys Spencer Rayner - Bass Tristan Henderson - Drums You can download high-quality mp3s of our entire set for FREE from this link: www.filedropper.com This is footage from our set at Humber College on Dec. 2/10. It was filmed by my sister Sarah. The audio was edited by Tristan (with pointless suggestions by myself) and I edited the video. Sorry that the colours and brightness are all screwed up, my camera doesn't handle stage lights well :S Thanks for watching. Feel free to comment, rate and subscribe. Unfortunately, all of my videos are completely different, so if you're looking for continuity, I'm not your man. However, I try and put forth the best product possible, whether it be various styles of music, or playing different instruments.

Simple Ways to Decorate Your Home For Christmas Without Putting Up Lights

Samsung Galaxy
ItemTitle

Sure Christmas lights are a trademark of the holiday season but how many people end of leaving them up throughout the summer months, just to find themselves in the next holiday season with no reason to take them down. Not only that but it takes hours to both put up the Christmas lights and take them down. Well this holiday season consider skipping the lights and decorating your home in simpler, yet still festive ways.

One simple way to bring cheer to the outside of your home is to tie red or green bows around the posts of your porch or around your mailbox. This task is easy and takes only minutes instead of hours. In fact you can even buy pre made bows with twisty wire in the back to secure the bow.

You can also make some simple snowflakes out of paper or paper plates and hang them from the inside of your window. This can also be a great craft for your kids when they are stuck inside on a snowy day.

Purchase a holiday wreath from your local grocery store and hang it up on the outside of your front door. Many wreaths even come with berries attached which add another festive touch.

Hang garlands from the front porch railing. Since they are outside you don't have to worry about allergies or having them catch on fire and they are both easy to put up and take down. You can also use garland to trim door frames, and window frames.

Purchase a small nativity scene or a few reindeer silhouettes to place on your lawn. Some of them even light up!

Make a snowman on your front lawn. You can make eyes out of charcoal, a nose out of a carrot and arms out of sticks. You can also use an old scarf or gloves to keep him warm!

Finally, if you really can't do without some Christmas lights, purchase a net of lights to throw over a bush, these are both easy to put up and take down. You can find them at any grocery, hardware or specialty Christmas store.

All of these tips allow you to decorate your home without going through the hassle of putting up and taking down Christmas lights. So get in the Christmas spirit and have at it!

Phillips Light Bulbs

Samsung Galaxy
ItemTitle

Phillips Electronics has been an innovator in lighting for almost 120 years. Today, they produce light bulbs that cover almost every conceivable need. The types of lighting that Phillips manufactures include industrial, retail, commercial, home, outdoor, automotive, LED, sports complexes, and airfield. Phillips offers a wide variety of bulbs and lamps, many of them useful in multiple areas.

Industrial, Retail and Commercial Lighting

One industrial lighting solution that Phillips offers is ceramic metal discharge halide (CDM) lighting. These bulbs use metal halide salts that vaporize at a high temperature, creating a daylight like light that is more energy efficient than a comparable incandescent bulb. Phillips All Start Technology creates long lasting lights that are good for use on outdoor signs, and industrial or retail spaces where high ceilings make frequent bulb changes impractical. Phillips CDM lamps are retro fit to existing ballasts, and can be used immediately.

More industrial lighting options include Phillips' T5 HO fluorescent lamps that are long life and energy saving, and their Extreme Temperature lamps that maintain their lighting ability even in very hot or very cold temperatures. Tuff Guard coating on fluorescent and incandescent bulbs makes these lights shatter resistant, and ALTO Technology fluorescent lamps are manufactured with low mercury.

MasterColor is a Phillips brand that includes PAR lamps, pulse start lamps and CDMs that are useful for lighting merchandise in retail stores.

Home Bulbs

Phillips lights are also prominent in home lighting, and offer many options, including energy saving bulbs. Dura Max bulbs last longer than standard incandescent bulbs and are available in all bulb types used in the home, including fan lights, decorative reflectors and soft white used in fixtures and lamps. Natural Light bulbs are used to create lighting that is similar to sunlight. Dura Max Plus bulbs last additional time, up to two years.

Halogena and Halogena Energy saver lamps are halogen lights for home use. Halogen bulbs are long lasting, produce a bright white light, and are dimmable. Phillips halogen bulbs include vanity lights and outdoor flood lights. Halogena energy savers can achieve up to 42% energy savings, are also dimmable, and available styles include candle shaped and classic "A" shaped bulbs.

Another eco-friendly alternative is Phillips' Energy Saver line of compact fluorescent bulbs. These bulbs are Energy Star qualified, last up to ten times longer than standard incandescent bulbs, and are available for almost every home use. Styles include twister bulbs, classic "A" shaped bulbs, decorative candle, globes, reflector floods and outdoor bulbs.

HomeLight is Phillips' brand of standard sized fluorescent bulbs for residential use. In addition to the all purpose soft white and cool white fluorescent tubes, Phillips offers a Natural Sunshine color that simulates natural daylight and Daylight Deluxe that is a cool bright white light. Like their industrial counterparts, HomeLight bulbs are manufactured with Phillips' ALTO reduced mercury technology.

LED

Light emitting diodes were once limited to watches and electronic display panels. But with improvements in technology, LED lamps are now available in a broad array of lighting products. Phillips manufactures LED bulbs for home, industrial, and commercial use. Advantages to LEDs include long life, energy efficiency (up to 80% savings), minimal heat, no UV, no mercury, and LED doesn't fade colors.

Phillips Ambient LED bulbs are LED lights designed to fit into existing home fixtures, including decorative sconces, chandeliers, recessed lighting, and track lighting. The Affininum line makes LED lights available in commercial settings by placing them in aluminum posterbox modules. These lights can then be placed in the perimeter of a display sign, sending light across the display. The Affinium LED String Systems are designed to light up lettering for store or brand names. Affininum LED bulbs are also in modules to replace fluorescent bulbs in refrigerated display cases. Advantages include customers, workers and food not being exposed to mercury or other hazardous substances should a florescent bulb break.

Phillips Endura LEDs are suitable for low level ambient lighting that would be needed in retail stores or hotel lobbies where lights must remain on at all times, or where frequent bulb changing is difficult, such as in high ceilings, or stairwells. As with other Phillips lights, EnduraLED retrofit into existing fixtures. Available lamps include spot lights, 10º or 25º angle beams lights, accent, candle, and A shaped bulbs.

Automotive Light Bulbs

Phillips manufactures a wide range of halogen and incandescent bulbs for use in consumer motor vehicles. In addition to standard bulbs, Phillips offers an array of specialty lamps.

Ecovision bulbs use less energy than standard halogen lamps, and Longer life have twice the life span of standards. X-treme Power bulbs emit up to 80% more light, and Crystal vision bulbs emit a brighter white light. BlueVision lamps appear blue/white for high performance cars as do Xenon HID bulbs, which also provide twice the light of standard halogen bulbs.

Vision plus bulbs emit a beam that is 50 feet longer, and Night guide lamps emit a three toned beam; yellow, to the left for decreasing glare from oncoming cars, bright white in the center to improve vision and a blue toned light to the right to improve visibility of road signs. MotoVision bulbs are manufactured specifically for motorcycles.

Outdoor, Airfield and Sports Arenas

In addition to MasterColor CDM lights, Phillips offers the CosmoPolis Outdoor lighting system. These can replace older quarts, mercury or sodium halide bulbs with a miniature metal halide bulbs and optimized electronic ballasts. Advantages include better quality light, long life, energy savings and compact size.

For stadium lighting, Phillips offers the ArenaVision MVF403 lamp with its MasterColor halide bulb and seven precision beam distributions, and the Arena Eclipse, which also uses a halide bulb and has a shutter for instant on and off. The F Eclipse, originally developed as an industrial flood light, is useful for smaller stadiums and arenas.

Phillips Airfield line includes lamps for taxi, runway, and airport approach. Halogen and standard incandescent bulbs are available, as well as Long Life halogen airfield bulbs. Long Life halogens last twice as long as standard airfield lamps and are lead and mercury free.

These are only some of the bulbs and lighting solutions available from Phillips Lighting. Phillips continues to be a leader in consumer and industrial lighting by combining innovative ideas with a commitment to eco- friendliness and sustainability.

Tennis Racquet String Tension - Tips on How to Decide

Samsung Galaxy
ItemTitle

Tennis racquet string tension is a commonly misunderstood issue but a very important consideration for your racquet. What racquet string tension should I use? Well, when it comes down to it, it really is a matter of personal preference, but here are some guidelines and facts to keep in mind. First, there is generally a tension range that is provided by the tennis racket manufacturer and is usually located on the throat of the tennis racket. If you ever find yourself unsure or struggling to decide what tension, a number smack dab in the middle of the recommended racquet string tension is usually a good one to start with. You can then increase or decrease your string tension until you find something that feels good.

Since all tennis rackets recommend different tensions (they are generally somewhere in the 50 or 60 pound range), there is not one tension that can be recommended. You can only use the following guidelines. Lower tension increase power and higher tensions increase control. With a lower tension, the racket acts almost like a trampoline. The ball hits the racket, the strings quickly form a small pocket (relative to the tennis string tension) and your swing and strings shoot the ball out of the pocket. Obviously, this is a little over exaggerated, but it is a metaphor to how the strings respond with a lower tension. This all results in a little less control.

Racquet string tension that is on the high side causes the racquet to act more like a board or "brick wall". This tight racket string tension causes the ball to flatten out more, which allows the strings to have a better bite on the ball. This, in essence, provides more control. Many players prefer tighter strings but it does have a board like feel that you may not like. It is also important to keep in mind that racket string tension will feel different with different rackets. Some tennis rackets are flexible while others are stiff. Your current tension may feel very different on a different racket even though they have the same recommended string tension.

Tennis string tension really becomes a matter of personal preference and trial and error. And it starts all over again if you get a new tennis racket. So just remember the basics:

1. Higher string tension means reduced power but more control

2. Lower string means more power but reduced control

Now that I have said all of this, I will throw a kink into the mix. These guidelines really apply to those tennis players who are passed the beginning stage of tennis and are a more intermediate or advanced player. A beginner could be hitting balls all over the place but a higher or tighter racket string tension is not going to help them out with better control. A beginner would most likely benefit from a lower tension because the strings will be more forgiving and help with the number of off center hits that they have. I would suggest that a beginning tennis player stick with the mid-range string tension that is recommend for the tennis racket.

Christmas Craft Ideas - 2 Unique and Easy Christmas Crafts That Make Great Presents

Samsung Galaxy

Christmas is a fun and exciting time for children of all ages. The older children get, the more they want to show the people they love their appreciation. Sure, children receive the majority of the gifts underneath the tree, but that doesn't mean they can't say "thank you" in their own unique way.

Most children find it difficult to buy presents at Christmas time (mostly because they don't have jobs to make money) but there are ways you, as a parent, aunt, uncle, sister, brother, babysitter or teacher can help. Crafts are easy, affordable and fun and give children the opportunity to feel important during the holidays.

Here are 3 fun and easy Christmas craft ideas that children will love:

1. Light Bulb Christmas Figures.

For children ages: 7 and older

Materials: one light bulb, fabric paint, glue, some string and decorative materials (googly eyes, a mini Santa hat, glitter etc.)

Directions: The first thing you need to do is decide what Christmas figure you want to make (you can choose Santa, Mrs. Clause, an elf, a snowman etc). Let's assume you choose Santa. Paint the light bulb as close to skin color as possible. Let it dry. Once dry, hold the light bulb so that the larger end is at the bottom and the metal part is at the top. Now add rosy cheeks with pink paint, lips, a white beard, eyes and a nose. Add any other features you want as well. If you'd like to add a hat, make sure it's glued on tight. The final step is adding the string so you can hang your decoration. If you don't have a hat on your ornament, just add the string to the metal part of the light bulb where it normally screws into the light. You're done. If you added a hat, simply tie the string to the top of the hat - just make sure your hat is on tight or your bulb might end up falling and smashing.

2. Baby Food Jar Christmas Tree.

For Children ages: 10 and older

Materials: 13 empty baby food jars, crazy glue, ribbon, a small set of mini lights, cardboard, other decorative items

Directions: Make sure all of your baby food jars are empty and clean. Take your piece of cardboard and lay it flat. Set up your baby food jars in the shape of a pyramid on top of the cardboard. Once you are satisfied with the way they are setup, trace the outside of the jars with a pencil onto the cardboard. Take the baby food jars off the cardboard and cut out the shape of the tree. Now glue the baby food jars onto the tree-shaped piece of cardboard using strong crazy glue. Once you've glued them, take your set of mini lights and arrange them through the jars as you like (make sure the end of the string is somewhat towards to the bottom of the tree and has enough room left to plug the lights into the wall). Now decorate the remainder of the tree with ribbon, glitter beads etc. Once everything is completely dry, stand the Christmas tree up and plug it into the wall. You have a beautiful decoration that anyone would be thrilled to receive at Christmas time.

Hope you enjoyed making our Christmas crafts. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Who Invented Christmas Lights?

Samsung Galaxy
ItemTitle

Soon after Thomas Edison developed the light bulb that could be used for commercial use, the idea of Christmas tree lights was one of the first applications. Before the discovery of electricity candles were used as Christmas lights. The dangers of this were of major concern at the times.

As time evolved the candles had glass covers, or metal lanterns with small wicks and were hung on the trees like ornaments on Christmas trees. Think about doing that in this day and age: a recipe for a burning house.

Even with the dangers it took many years for holiday tree lights to become commercially available. It's said that the idea of these lights came from Edison's assistant, Edward Johnson: he had the bulbs made specially for his house and he displayed them his Christmas tree lights at his home on New York City.

From these humble beginnings the Christmas tree lights went through many changes before General Electric introduced them commercially. The early days of lights on Christmas trees was night lights strung together to make long stings of lights. You may have seen these in some old pictures. Those large bulbs that would shatter into a million pieces when they hit the floor.

Christmas mini lights were introduced in the mid to late 1970's. There have been many changes to the original Christmas lights but for the most part they are the same. Sales have climbed as application for these lights have changed to not just decorating the tree but also used as outdoor Christmas lights. Icicle lights are the most popular and are seen on most homes that use outdoor lighting at Christmas time. Outdoor decorative lighting has become one of the most popular types and can become somewhat of a competition among neighbors. Many people will use animated Christmas lights that can create a spectacular scene and some are even animated.

Many of the lights used now are led lights. They are long lasting and if one light goes out the whole string will still work, not like the old days, if one light was out you had to go through one by one to figure out the bad bulb. And with some holiday light strings of 100 or more, it was not a fun task. So make sure before you purchase your next set of Christmas lights that it says on the box that you don't have to replace a bad bulb to make the whole string of lights work.

How to String Lights on an Outdoor Tree

Samsung Galaxy
ItemTitle

No matter if you about to string lights on an outdoor tree as a Christmas decoration or as a year round decoration, there are a few things that you may want to know that will make the task much easier. First, string lights on an outdoor tree is not just a Christmas decoration. Many shopping centers, hotels and other businesses use clear string lights on outdoor trees throughout the entire year. Many homeowners are doing the same because the string lights on outdoor trees provide peaceful and soothing lighting while adding beauty to their landscape.

Before you rush to the store to purchase of these lights for your outdoor tree, there is a couple of things that you should do first that will possibly save you time later on. First, you will obviously want to decide which tree or trees that you plan on decorating with the string lights. Because they require electricity, you should locate the nearest power outlet and determine the length of the extension cord that you will need. Next, using any type of string, wrap the string around the tree where you would like the lights to go. Then measure the string to determine the length of light that you will need for your outdoor tree. Doing those two things add very little time to your project, but it may save you an extra trip or two to the store later on. Besides using a ladder, a PVC pipe can make adding the lights to an outdoor tree much, much easier. Depending on the height of the tree, pick up a suitable length of PVC pipe that will reach the top of the tree. Normally a 10 foot PVC pipe is around 2 dollars. You will need to add a simple hook to one end of the PVC pipe. A clothes hanger or any heavy duty wire will work. Once you have your list complete, shopping for the lights on string will be easy because there will be no guessing work on what lengths to buy.

Now that you have everything that you need, you should be ready to add the lights on your outdoor tree. Before you add any lights, you should plug them in first to make sure that they all work. Once you are ready, start at the top of the tree. You can either use a ladder or the PVC pipe to reach the top of the tree. Then as you work your way down, you will want to circle the lights around the outdoor tree. The space between each row of string lights does not have to be perfect. Once the lights are wrapped all the way down your outdoor tree, you will want to tuck the string lights into the tree, just a little bit. If you live in a windy area, you may need to secure the string lights with small pieces of wire. Once it gets dark, it will be easier to make the necessary adjustments. The end result will be beautiful string lights on an outdoor tree that provide a soothing lighting effect to your yard.

Mini Lights - Understanding the Design and Assembly of the Three Wire Strings of Them

To see the diagrams and photos of these mini-light strings, see this site.

Stringing Outdoor Tree Lights

Ask anyone if they recognize what tree lights are and you will probably get one of many replies. Alright, that's not reliable. You will in all probability generate one reply out of numerous possibilities. Most people exclusively think about tree lights as something to set up at Christmas, only outside tree lights really cover a lot different outdoor landscape lighting methods that makes the best of both a trees raw beauty and convenience.

Having already brought up Christmas tree lights, we may as well talk about that concept a little. An obvious annotation is that threading lights in a tree is not something confined to Christmas. If you have reveled dining or patronizing in an elegant plaza, you may have had the joy of encountering beautiful white lights strung up into trees. A hotel adjacent my residence keeps lights in trees on their charmingly landscaped property all year-round.

Assuming the use of white lights, the result is peaceful and calming. Colored lights arouse more whimsical or festive modes. For home landscaping endeavors, I am a proponent of class and nuance and would completely recommend using small white lights. Choosing for colors will work okay for the holidays but results in an unquestionably circus-like sentiment the rest of the year. But, if your objective is a tropical beach-bar setting, you could be capable to get by with it.

In addition to fancying a quieter expression, it is also crucial to acknowledge that there's a smidgen of an art demanded in threading lights into trees. It is one of those things where a surplus balance isn't a valuable matter. Failing to acquaint a little of haphazardness into your stringing exertions and you end up with a disturbingly hokey look. The design gets excessively apparent and takes away from the results. Ever notice how rare straight lines are in trees? Overly fewer lights will compound things as well, making it obvious that they're on a strand. If you don't twine an attractive Christmas tree but one time a year, you are in all likelihood going to scramble getting it right in your yard too.

That's not to say that intended artificiality is always an atrocious matter. A lot of master landscape lighting installers will, at a customer asking, attempt a few pretty unusual things out. Their experience admits them to pull off what just about of us would only botch up awfully. I may be a little old fashioned, but I will forever choose the "natural" (there's actually nothing natural about thousands of lights in a tree but you get my implying) feeling that appears to imitate a thousand lighting bugs in the branches.

Stringing along outside tree lights into your trees differs from other outdoor tree lighting processes in two basic ways; it is easily the most time intense and hard to carry out and it is the most thwarting to keep up. Trees are barely motionless things. They develop, they have leaves, they drop leaves, and their branches break off. All of that can conduce to alterations and troubles in your lighting. Tackle this trend of outside tree lighting by yourself only when you're prepared to commit to the challenge of sustaining your undertaking regularly and if you've fairly small trees. Otherwise, hire the professionals.

As much as I relish outside string lights in trees, this technique is not what I genuinely dream up when I think of outdoor tree lights. With string lights, the lights are the additional focal point; other than the tree. They may show some of a tree's frame or anatomical structure, but the lights are in reality the chief attractor. Additional methods in which outdoor tree lights are applied either cause the tree a central focus or use it as an anchor point to shine other objects in the spotlight. Moon lighting makes the best of a tree's inner structure to paint the ground with clouded shadows. Up-lighting shows off the wonderful thing about the tree itself and casts reverberated light to the ground beneath. Or lights possibly mounted up in the tree to down-light other garden characteristics.

Each process warrants its own article and would imbibe this one out longer than designated but the subject matter you are carrying away, I hope, is that you aren't bounded alone to strings for your outside tree lights. Although an absolutely satisfactory process, string lighting trees is labor and care intense. The effects can be meriting the drive, whenever done correctly. But if you have never put in lights like this, be geared up to reconstruct and reset your first go numerous times before you've favorable final result*. If that sounds like a bit much of a challenge, look at alternate landscaping lights or employ masters to spare you the worry.

Extra Large Outdoor Christmas Lights

Samsung Galaxy

For some of us, there are very specific reasons why we want to use extra large outdoor Christmas lights. Although they are generally not used for most homes, many homes actually need them. XL outdoor Christmas lights are very popular for various kinds of situations. For example:

o Churches
o Businesses
o Any location that is far from the street

Decorating Churches with Outdoor Christmas Lights

Of course, a church generally celebrates Christmas! For that reason, you want to share your love of the holiday with everyone who passes the church. Unless you live in a highly urban area, most churches have a very large front lawn. This lawn is perfect for displaying Nativity scenes. In addition to your large decorations, you will also need extra large outdoor Christmas lights to complete your display.

For Your Business

Like many businesses, you probably have a very large parking lot in front of your business. This creates a problem for showing your holiday spirit. You might not want to have huge plastic decorations on the outside of your business. However, you can add some classic touches like lights. For this reason, you will want to buy extra large outdoor Christmas lights for your business. The smaller lights are barely visible across the parking lot from the street.

Homes

Most homes have a smaller yard. The front yard is generally less than 12 feet from the sidewalk to the front door. However, if you live in an area with extra large front yards, you'll also need extra large outdoor Christmas lights. Smaller lights can get swallowed up in the distance and will be barely visible to any of your neighbors driving by.

Try a Theme That is Simple and Easy

Part of the appeal of the Nutcracker for many people is the beauty. This makes it an easy theme to build around for your big Christmas displays. Many Christmas decorations are a little bit garish and focus on the children. However, the Nutcracker evokes for many a love of winter, snowflakes, and wearing velvet coats. It's an older and classic theme you can't go wrong with. Winter is a time of year to be celebrated in and of itself. If you're looking for a Nutcracker theme, it is best to avoid traditional Christmas decorations. Using outdoor Christmas lights is usually all the Christmas a Nutcracker theme can really handle. The focus with the Nutcracker theme is simply "sparkle".

Way back around 2001 I bought some fake Star Wars figures from Poundland. Now they're on the internet, stinking up your bandwidth like an off-colour Chewbacca. Because that's literally what one of them is. Standing twice as tall as a real figure and featuring blatantly stolen artwork, the exciting figures from the Galaxy Empire range help you re-enact famous scenes from Star Wars in the wrong colour! And don't even ask about Han Solo. Terrifying. Next up is a pair of fake Darth Vaders which make screeching and banging noises that seem to go on forever. I was genuinely slightly hurt reviewing these, which is always a hit with the audience. Finally I segue into a Metal Ball Warrior by way of Micronauts and magnets. What's a Metal Ball Warrior? Exactly what it sounds like, disappointingly.

Released 15.10.2012 Buy now on iTunes bit.ly Daddy's Groove have seen their star rise meteorically of late due to a string of acclaimed tracks, remixes and collaborations with the likes of James Blunt, Kylie Minogue and David Guetta, the latter of which resulted in Guetta's rework of 'Turn The Lights Down', one of the standout anthems of 2012. They also locked down a coveted residency at Pacha throughout the summer for David Guetta's Fuck Me I'm Famous night, ensuring all eyes are on them as we approach ADE. Their offering for Azuli's Amsterdam '12 album comprises two mixes encompassing the records they play currently and also an insight into the journey so far. The Where We Are Mix encapsulates Daddy's Groves hard edged, peak time sound, moving through peaks and troughs of euphoria by way of bangers from Hard Rock Sofa, Third Party, Wolfgang Gartner and of course DG themselves. The How We Got Here Mix flicks retrospectively through the records that form their foundation, maintaining the hard edged intensity, but with an emphasis of rhythm rather than melody, Daddy's Groove whip up a techno tornado spanning music from Plastikman, Audion, Richie Hawtin and Joey Beltram. Tracklist Wolfgang Gartner - Flexx Congorock -- Agarta Daddy's Groove - PIMP Nicola Zucchi & Master Mood - Aries (Master Mood Remix) Third Party feat. Loleatta Holloway -- Thank you Adrian Lux feat. Dante -- Burning (Ivan Gough & Amp Feenixpawl Remix)

You sacrifice so much of your life, In order for this to work. While I'm off chasing my own dreams, Sailing around the world, Please know that I'm yours to keep, My beautiful girl. And when you cry a piece of my heart dies, Knowing that I may have been the cause, If you were to leave, fulfill someone elses dreams, I think I might totally be lost. But you don't ask for no diamond rings, No delicate string of pearls, That's why I wrote this song to sing, My beautiful girl
